County status and growth

Davis County is Utah’s smallest county in land area, but the 3rd largest in population at 295,000 people (US Census). Over the last 5 years it’s grown an average of nearly 8,000 people per year.

Half of the population is found in Layton, Bountiful, Clearfield and Kaysville. The hot spot cities for growth are North Salt Lake and Farmington, but, as you'll see in the table below, Utah home builders are building new homes everywhere in Davis county.

Davis County follows Tooele County for the most affordable new homes, based on building permit values. But, more expensive custom homes are being built as well.
